John Linus
Upon graduation of CD I worked for the Reading Railroad. After 12 years of school, I only wanted to work. In December 1968 I was drafted into the Army infantry. I served at Ft. Bragg and Ft. Polk before receiving my free ride to Vietnam. I met Tommy Queroli along the way. While in Vietnam I served with the 9th Infantry Division in the Mekong Delta region. What an education I received. After 7 months I was wounded and spent 3 months in rehab in Japan.only to be sent back for my last 60 days of duty. My remaining 6 months were spent as a drill Sergeant at Ft. Dix. I considered staying in the Army but my wife to be would not agree.

In April, 1970 I went into the family glass business (still there) and married my wife Joanne. It's been a great ride along with our two kids and three grandkids. Joanne (Polacio) went to St. Basil and we met through Claire Clauss. We raised our family on Lansing Street in Fox Chase. I enjoyed watching my children grow up in the same neighborhood as I did while attending St. Cecilia School too. It also gave me a chance to hang at the REC. I became involved in coaching soccer for the next 20 years.

We moved to our present home in Lower Moreland about 22 years ago. During the summer you can find us in Ocean City which will be our next full time residence in 18 months. I have a good life and hope to see everyone in September.
